Eyes on
I’ve been showing a few people what the new FlipCityMusic.com is going to be and everyone seems pretty excited. That and the fact that I’ve been somewhat cleaning out the vaults of mostly unheard freestyle tracks. More too come, just good to see the response.
Social Networking
In the process of setting up a Social Networking site for Flip City Music…a.k.a. Squad Life and all of our solo endeavors. Think of it as MySpace/Facebook, but exclusively for Squad Life content. It’s early in the development stages, but looks decent.
3 concepts moving
Started through a couple of concepts last night on actual songs and not flipping tracks. Not sure how I feel about them, I need to get back and check. There’s one called Memory Lane (in the rain) and it could be pretty hot, but could get cheesy quick. A fine line to walk.

Beat Collecting...
I came across a nice collection of beats that we can use royalty free to help speed some things up. I know for sure I’ve got the beat for the 1st track of the album. I think I’ve also found something pretty hot that sounds like some Rick Rubin/LL 1988 stuff…
Things are looking up
After spending way to many hours looking through forums, faq’s, and trouble shooting guides it’s looking like Pro Tools is finally running inside of Leopard. I had to buy the 7.4 LE release and dump some plugins, but I’m importing audio, creating tracks, and picking up sound from the mic. It’s about time.
Issues and flashbacks
Having some MAJOR ProTools issues…but getting pretty hyped anyway. Listening to the CRC stuff has my mind working and concepts are everywhere.

Schedules look to be finally clearing up.

I’ve been tweaking and working on some new beats. I’ve got one that I liked, but didn’t think any lyrics would fit…then after a day or too I let it marinate and I’m starting to feel it more. I did some mixing on the others as well…Long and Winding Road has really turned around too. I just came across some more instruments as well for Reason. Back to...

Beats 4 the rhyme
I chopped some samples today on another machine (until they patch Recycle for Leopard). i’ve got some decent verses going for one, but the chorus needs a TON of work. We need that fire though…
Stockpile
So I’ve been working on and off on some different beat concepts for several months. The issue I’m having is that the majority of “quality” beats are all a slowed down, dark/deep type of feeling. Which is fine, but for some of this project I’d really like some more up tempo stuff too. I REALLY need to get recycle working so I can chop some samples again.
Beat down
I’ve been working on a beat on and off today. So far it’s pretty hot…a little dark in an eerie way, but still hot. It’s a definite no chorus posse cut.
The Lab
Posted a few updates to The Lab. Some live stuff from 96/97, as well as a few older albums. I need to finish the Tango & Cash upload, but a lot of the old catalog should be up soon.

I’m using Vimeo currently for our online video distribution. I’ll probably setup a duplicate channel on YouTube, but for now I like the quality on Vimeo…plus, we’ll be able to do HD content as well.
Begin Again
I’ve put together a 1 page layout for the new site until I can launch a full layout. I think I’ll carry it over into onetre.com as well.
Concepts
Working out some video concept stuff. I’ve got the ideas down for the second few, but the 1st one is holding me up.
